Norman Cook on 1 Brighton FM

You may or may not know but on bi-weekly Sundays between 10pm – 12am, Worthing based, world renowned Graff king, Paul Aroe Barlow does a rather cracking Hip-Hop show called ‘Back To The Odd School’. Over the last year or so, he has had numerous guests including, Paul Godfrey (Morcheeba) and DJ Format. His list of exclusive show jingles come from many major players in the rap game.

The next show is this Sunday 27/11/16 // 10pm-12am GMT and his special guest will be, Mr Norman Cook aka Fatboy Slim.

A member of Brighton’s own musical royalty. Norman is a producer, artist and label owner, who has enjoyed UK chart hits under more pseudonyms than anyone else. Norman first came to public attention in the mid-80s as bassist of popular indie guitar band The Housemartins, but was already DJing and producing dance music on the side. He began recording solo when the Housemartins split in 1988, before forming the group Beats International, who had a UK number one hit, “Dub Be Good To Me”. Whether recording jazz-funk with Freakpower, euphoric house as Pizzaman or sample-heavy big beat as Fatboy Slim, Norman has always been a producer with a love for Hip-Hop / Breaks & Beats and on Sunday, he will be in the 1 Brighton FM bunker with Aroe counting down his top 10 Hip-Hop records.

We would like to suggest that you tune in as it promises to be a cracker!

UPDATE: Here’s the mixcloud recording of the show – NB: this show is post watershed & therefore contains adult language & content. Enjoy!
