Up and coming French producer Georges brings his animate, sweet sounds to Boogie Angst records with the juicy funk and disco sounds of new single “Sights”. This follows his remix for Kraak & Smaak’s ‘Naked’ earlier this year, signalling his first 4-track debut for the label.
Offering up the compact jazz-funk opening track “Karma”, it lays down a joyous blend of liquid piano stabs, leftfield vocals and a funky as a muthaluva slap bass. A slo mo, laid back chugger that does it’s damage when required. Next track takes us into a hazy kind of cheeba cheeba fug, then headlong straight into a glitterball disco anthem, as “Back To FM” has us blasted by electrifying trumpets, twisted vox and a heavy weight bass onlsaught to boot.
With it’s piano-scattered melody, charming trill and filtered 4/4 loops, Georges’ previous single “Now You’re Gone”, featuring Dublins Stee Downes on vocals (Yes, that “I Want You In My Soul” Stee Downes) projects the kind of zest laden and uplifting feeling you would expect, delivering an in your face disco bomb. The dub privides a stripped back version guranteed to ignite a disco inferno.
