Vision On

Saturdays 9am-11am

Vision On has been 30 odd years in the making. When I was at school, I told my career advisor of my interest in the Music Industry and perhaps one day I might be a radio presenter. The careers advisor swiftly responded by producing a leaflet on joining the Army!

When I was 12 or 13, I heard Prince’s 1999 and Purple Rain. These together with my dads Little Richard compilation & his Motown Chartbusters LP really influenced me and put me on the path of music that I continue to love to this day. I’m a huge Prince fan & collector too, having seen him in concert many many times. It’s a real shame that I’m writing this a week after he passed.

Fast forward to the 2nd half of last year, I was invited to sit in on the What’s Wrong with Groovin show. I loved it. When an opportunity came for me to have my own show, I didn’t need to think twice about it. Prior to this I’ve done a little bit of DJing but that’s about it.
With the Vision On show the aim is to play tracks which feature in films or on its soundtrack, in TV shows and in some cases computer games. I have around 2000 records and this gives me the huge pleasure to delve into my collection of Soundtracks, TV Themes, Library Music, Sound Effects etc etc and play it. You’ll probably hear an ecclectic mix of Hip Hop, Funk, Soul, Guitar, Surf, Downtempo, Electronica, Classical, Jazz and more. So whether you need easing into the day gently or something loud to get you moving, there’s something for everyone.
