DJ duo Selvasistema’s new radio show ‘Latin Lovers’ promises to be a vibrant journey into the world of Latin music and beyond, airing on 1BTN. Their new show dives deep into Latin sounds including old-school salsa, cumbia, merengue and reggaeton, while also expanding far beyond into jazz, reggae, Spanish flamenco, and house music.
Selvasistema draw on their combined British, Mexican and Spanish heritages to blend traditional roots music with contemporary sounds. Their influences span legendary artists like Héctor Lavoe, Celia Cruz, and Paco de Lucía to today’s artists and electronic producers such as Quantic, Ezra Collective, Guts and Nathy Peluso. Each episode promises to celebrate rhythm, culture, and connection, whether it’s through Afro-Latin percussion, the soul of jazz, or to the rhythm of house music.
Selvasistema have been on the Brighton DJ scene for the last five years, holding down a residency at the iconic Fortune of War where they bring the Latin sunshine to the dancefloor all year round. Their new show Latin Lovers will air on the last Tuesday of every month, 4-6pm on 1BTN. See you there.
