Unfinished Business
12 noon to 3pm
Second and fourth Thursday of the month
Music curated by New Yorker Mark Riley, best known for his 40-year career in radio.
Back in the day, Mark was a co-Founder of For The Record (1978), the successor of The New York Record Pool, which stocked New York DJs with vinyl. It was from here that Mark aligned with some of the most iconic names in the history of club/dance/jazz music globally: The Loft, The Paradise Garage, David Mancuso, Larry Levan, Frankie Knuckles, David Morales, Joey Llanos, David DePino… all personal friends.
Some are no longer with us, and Mark – who now lives in Brighton – has crafted this programme to reflect the ‘unfinished business’ of these icons and others.
You’ll travel in time with Mark, back to the New York dancefloors, and you’ll discover new music that Levan and Mancuso would probably have played if they were here today.
