4th Wednesday of the month
Having only reconnected with DJ’ing a few years ago, its been a bit of a whirlwind since then. Reflecting on why I picked up my headphones again, I guess its because the nightclubs closed due to the pandemic and I was missing the escapism they offered. I was going through the toughest time of my life on a personal level and the isolation of the pandemic made coping even harder, so medicating with music at home gave me focus and purpose. I genuinely dont know how I’d have got through that time without it.
Online radio shows and live streams during lockdown quickly led to club and festival gigs once the pandemic was over, and now I’m lucky enough to play regularly across the UK, Mexico and Ibiza. The excitement of discovering new artists and rush you feel when you hear incredible music (new or old) for the first time is so uplifting, its addictive. Coupled with friendships formed and connections felt with likeminded souls on the dance floor, music has changed and enriched my life in ways I could never have imagined.
Skirting through laid back Balearica, chuggy nu-disco and spacey dance music, I’m equally happy playing a dreamy poolside set at Pikes as I am playing punchy electronica with dirty basslines in a sweaty club in the early hours. My shows on 1BTN usually touch most of these bases, hopefully leaving the 1BTN listeners tapping their toes by the end!
