Steppers w/ Edseven, Steve Spacek & Tom Studdy

Who are, Steppers? Well, 3 of the dopest producers and selectors you could wish to celebrate.
Born out of a Monthly basement session club night, the vibe was so strong that they felt the need to expand on that sound. Future Soul, Afrobeat, UKG, Hip Hop, Bruk, House and beyond, anything goes!

Long time collaborators in many musical projects, Steppers aim to bring that basement heat into a post-pandemic world.

Who are they then? Ok.
1.
Steve Spacek – will need no introduction, but for the purpose of, well, introduction and for those still unsure. From his legendary output with the band Spacek – Curvatia, Vintage Hi-Tech + Beat Spacek, his solo work on the cult ‘Sound In Color’ imprint and collaborations with the late, great J.Dilla. Numerous releases to the likes of Eglo Records, Jazzy Sport & Far Out Recordings, to his under-the-radar Black Pocket project for dBridge’s Exit Records UK and also work with Mark Pritchard as one half of Africa Hitech, his fearless approach to creation has always been progressive and highly original.
Steve will be dropping exclusive, unreleased heat on Steppers monthly with no track IDs!

2. Edseven – Veteran Sydney Dj who has shared the stage with everyone from Gilles Peterson, Roy Ayers & IG Culture to Waajeed, Peanut Butter Wolf and Funkineven. A collector, lover and producer of many styles. An Edseven set could move through anything from Detroit Hip Hop to Nigerian Funk, Broken beat to Chicago House, Classic Soul to Future Beat and beyond, joining the dots between styles and eras with respect – never losing focus on the dancers.

Upcoming releases on Turntables on the Hudson, Co-Op records, Inner Tribe, City Fly and more will get premieres on Steppers radio.

3. Tom Studdy – Music curator / DJ / Radio host / Record label head and a man of many hats, but most importantly Tom is a serious digger with 15yrs plus experience as a selector and a regular on the Sydney circuit and beyond.

So, there you have it. Between them they produce a killer 2 hour show once a month for 1BTN and you can catch them again this Sat 21st Nov. 11:00-13:00 GMT // 00:00-02:00 Sydney

Right and proper.
