If truth be told, I quite enjoyed lockdown – the two extra hours per day not commuting gave me lots of time to cook and grow vegetables and listen to new music. However, going back to work in August managing an A Level department through a pandemic was when the real fun started. I would say that doing my radio show is the thing that’s kept me sane. The joy of finding new music and having an excuse to trot into Brighton once a month, as well as the japes with listeners on-air, has been an absolute, fresh joy. And a second thing that kept me sane during my hour-long commutes and made me forget I was wearing a mask, was re-watching all seven seasons of Mad Men. I love that Peggy Olson.
