Okay, we know we’ve said this once before but then we realised that we had to adhere to some pretty rigorous tests – correctly required by the licensing authorities of course – before we were permitted to officially broadcast live over the airwaves to Brighton.
If you have already re-tuned your radio into 101.4FM land have been listening over the past three weeks then you’ll have noticed that we have been broadcasting our playlist as our official test signal, along with some teaser ads informing Brighton of our imminent launch.
And here’s the good news! We have finally arrived at the point where we can officially declare we shall be broadcasting live on 101.4FM from this Friday morning. Making Good Friday a great Friday! It also marks two years to the day since our first show was broadcast over the internet, back in 2015. A double celebration – and we thank you for all of your support so far!
101.4FM is our dedicated frequency and should be loud and proud throughout the Brighton area and beyond. We’ve been out and about and have picked it up in Lewes with no problem and even had people saying they can pick it up in Littlehampton. Check your reception and let us know via the shout box where you’re listening in from.
So, without further ado, this Friday is the day! Please join us for a day full of fine music and quality programming:
Kicking off the FM broadcasts will be our very own Josh Dee with his Global Beats Breakfast Show from 9am.
Then at 11am, Nick Carling will step up to present his excellent Fruitful Radio Show.
At 1pm our very own Gov’nor, Mickey Duke returns to the studio, fresh from his holidays, with his Friday Feel Good Show.
From 4pm we’ll be joined by Gi3Mo & Husky for their Audio Active show.
At 6pm, Steve McMahon will step up to the plate to present the What Is Soul show. His special guest this week will be Trevor Hurd. Trev knows his onions when it comes to soul and jazz dance music so be sure not to miss this one.
The Midfield General himself, Damian Harris steps up at 8pm.
And taking you through from 10pm until midnight we’ll have the lovely Love Is The Message crew in the bunker for some disco deviance.
Night People will begin winding things up from midnight and they’ll take you into the wee small hours of Saturday, finishing at 2am.
We hope you’ll be available to join us on this momentous day for our little station. It’s taken a lot of behind the scenes graft and dedication to physically get the shows on the air for the past two years but ultimately we would be nothing without your ears and your support which is the only reason why we all do what we do.
Big love – from all at 1 Brighton FM – Your community radio station for Brighton.
