Sunday morning is the perfect time for reflection of the the night before, a time usually surrounded by fogged memories, a few hours sleep, sometimes unpleasant physical sensations occurring in your body, feelings of guilt, pain and pleasure all competing for your attention as rise into the conscious state, well it is if you are like me, the remedy….Music! Every other Sunday on 1BrightonFM I host the Warm Sounds show, a musical meandering that leaves the 4/4 at the door and lets the easier sounds of my music collection that encompasses everything from african vibes, down tempo grooves, soul, car boot pop, folk and subtle electronica to ease your morning in while you settle down with a cuppa tea and recharge your soul.
I have been playing music in Brighton across many venues since I moved here in 2008. I also co-host the monthly Kinfolk show with Easy Jim and Soft Rocks on a Friday that coincides with our Kinfolk party nights that we have been running over the last few years in Brighton town. If I am not playing records, I am playing instruments, my sporadic music productions of leftfield dance music under the alias of Kalidasa, over the last few years has spawned some dark disco sounds that has garnered support from the likes of Ivan Smagghe, Mugwump, Andrew Weatherall, Sean Johnson to name a few.
